Rachel Williams

Rachel Williams will enter her second season with Zona in the 2023-2024 club season.

Rachel was a four-year starting defensive player at the University of Arizona from 1999-2002. She was part of Arizona’s dominant run, winning the Pac-10 Championship and advancing to the NCAA Final Four. During her time on the team, the Wildcats rose from a top 40 team to a top 4 team in the NCAA Division I. Rachel competed for Arizona during their best finish in University of Arizona history. In 1999, they progressed to the Sweet 16, in 2000 the Elite 8, in 2001 they were Pac-10 Champions and made a Final Four appearance, and in 2002 they finished in the Elite 8.

Rachel has been coaching for nearly two decades at the youth and junior levels. She has coached at various clubs in California, Oregon, Kansas, and Arizona. In Prescott, AZ, she directed the Yavapai Juniors Volleyball Club from 2010-2015. She successfully expanded the club from five to nine area teams. Her teams won several regional championships during her time with the club. In 2014 her 17’s team finished in 2nd place at Colorado Crossroads.

She coached at the collegiate level in the NCAA Division I, serving as an assistant coach at Portland State, Louisiana Tech, and Northern Arizona University. She has experience outside Division I at the college level, as she served as an assistant coach at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Point Loma Nazarene University, Arizona Western College, and Yavapai College. 

Rachel was born in Parker, Arizona, but having grown up in Upland, California, considers herself a Southern California native.
