Jack Dyck

Jack Dyck has coached for Zona since 2013 and most recently worked with Zona’s 15-2 team last season. 

Jack grew up in Granada Hills, California and graduated from Granada Hills High School. After graduation, he attended Cal State Northridge on a basketball scholarship. He played both volleyball and basketball for four years, receiving All-American honors his senior year. Jack finished his volleyball career as the all-time assists leader for CSUN and was inducted into the CSUN Athletic Hall of Fame.

Following his senior year, Jack played in the NBA Summer Pro League in Los Angeles prior to signing a contract to play professional basketball in Europe. For three years, he played for Basketball Klub Klosterneuburg in Austria. His team competed in the European Cup Championships all three years.

Jack spent his career as a coach and athletic director at two schools, beginning with Beverly Hills High School in 1979. After 13 years, his family relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho where he served in the same position at Sandpoint High School. Jack retired in 2013.

The 2018 season will be Jack's 35th season coaching club volleyball. Over the years, his teams have won 11 regional championships and have participated in USAV Junior Nationals 13 times. He has coached over 40 athletes who have continued on to play college volleyball.

In 2014, Jack spent his first year in retirement as the volunteer assistant coach at the University of Arizona.  That year, the Wildcats finished 3rd in the PAC12, winning 24 matches and were ranked in the top 15 in the country.

Jack is married to Robin, his wife of 40 years. The couple have two children, Matt and Amy. They also have a daughter-in-law, Kendra, and two grandchildren, Willow and Ethan.
