A parent of an athlete on Zona 13-1, Ben Bushman, has asked for our assistance. 

Several churches, including the one his family attends, are trying to assist needy refugee families with food, clothing, and occupational assistance. Many of these families have been uprooted from their homes and have come to Arizona with literally nothing. This hits close to home for the Bushman family because they couldn't go back to their home in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and were considered "refugees" when THEY came to Arizona.

They have now been asked to help solicit and gather donated backpacks and bags that can be used by children to carry school supplies, and by adults to carry tools and paperwork to and from work.  The immediate goal is to gather 100+ bags/backpacks over the next week for this purpose. Any assistance the Zona family can provide by donating old bags or backpacks during the next week would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to donate a gently used bag or backpack, please bring it to the gym between 2:30pm-8:00pm June 16 or June 20-22.
